About HEBENKRAFT
STEP 01

Design & Drawing Process

After receipt of the client's Purchase Order, HEBENKRAFT's Design & Drawing Department initiates the preparation of the General Arrangement Drawing (GAD) and detailed engineering drawings. The GAD is submitted to the client for approval. Upon receiving client approval, the finalized detailed drawings are released to the fabrication vendors and in-house assembly shops for execution.

Raw Material Procurement
STEP 02

Raw Material Procurement

Based on approved drawings and the Bill of Quantities (BOQ), HEBENKRAFT's Purchase Department procures the required raw materials from approved and reputed vendors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and delivery schedules.

STEP 03

Raw Material Testing & Certification

All incoming raw materials are physically inspected and verified by the HEBENKRAFT QA/QC Department. The materials are cross-checked against test certificates and relevant standards to ensure conformity with approved Material of Construction (MOC) before being released for further processing.

Raw Material Testing
Casting and Forging
STEP 04

Casting / Forging & Pattern Development

For steel castings, HEBENKRAFT first develops wooden or aluminum patterns based on approved drawings and dimensional requirements. These patterns are then released to the casting foundry for production. HEBENKRAFT specifies the exact material grade and chemical composition to be used for casting, in line with customer requirements and the approved Material of Construction (MOC).

All castings undergo comprehensive quality and metallurgical inspections, including chemical analysis, mechanical property verification, and hardness testing (BHN). Additionally, Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is carried out to confirm internal soundness and freedom from defects.

STEP 05

Machining Operations

The initial stage after certification is rough machining. HEBENKRAFT's design & drawing department provides detailed drawings for rough machining of items like crane runner wheels, wheel axles, gearbox internals comprising of input shafts, reduction shafts & gears and output shafts, castings of pulleys for snatch blocks, pulley pins, brake drums, forged hooks, couplings etc.

Machining Operations
Heat Treatment
STEP 06

Heat Treatment / Stress Relieving

After completion of rough machining, items proceed for stress relieving or heat treatment which is item specific. Generally volume hardening is carried out for carbon steel items (EN8/EN9/EN19/EN24) in the range of 250 – 280 BHN for runner wheels. EN8 Gears are hardened in the range of 220 – 250 BHN and EN9 pinions in the range of 255 – 300 BHN.

Stress relieving is done for mild steel fabricated items which undergo welding like gearbox casings, rope drums and long travel bogies. After completion of heat treatment, the material proceeds for final machining.

STEP 07

Structural Fabrication

HEBENKRAFT is self manufacturer of its own Gearboxes for most of its material handling equipment. The gearbox casings are plate fabricated out of MS profile and as per IS – 2062 plates. Then the casings are welded and sent for stress relieving. After stress relieving the gearboxes are bored on a horizontal boring high precision machine.

The internal assembly of the input pinion shaft, reduction gears and output shaft is done at manufacturing unit. The gearboxes are heavy duty foot mounted and of Horizontal Helical, Vertical Helical and Vertical spur type design. They are suitable to work with higher mechanical horsepower and continuous duty operations.

Quality Inspection
STEP 08

Quality Inspection & NDT

All welding activities at HEBENKRAFT are carried out in accordance with applicable Indian Standards (IS) and approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). HEBENKRAFT deploys qualified and certified welders to ensure consistent weld quality, structural integrity, and long-term reliability.

Comprehensive welding quality inspections include Dye Penetration (DP) Testing for surface defects, Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) for near-surface flaw detection, and Radiographic Testing (RT) or Ultrasonic Testing (UT) for internal weld defect evaluation.

STEP 09

Assembly & Trial Run

Upon completion of fabrication, the equipment is shifted to a designated parking position, where detailed dimensional inspection and necessary corrections are carried out to ensure compliance with approved drawings. Thereafter, a no-load trial run of the equipment is conducted, followed by inspection and performance verification in the presence of the client.

Assembly & Trial Run
Surface Preparation & Painting
STEP 10

Surface Preparation & Painting

After successful inspection and formal client approval, the equipment is transferred to the blasting yard for surface preparation. Copper slag blasting is carried out under HEBENKRAFT supervision, achieving SA 2.5 surface cleanliness as per ISO 8501-1.

Painting is executed in accordance with applicable IS standards. The standard painting system typically includes: Two coats of Primer Paint, One coat of Intermediate (IMO) Coat, and Two coats of Final Finish Paint. The required Dry Film Thickness (DFT) is defined based on the client's site and environmental conditions.

STEP 11

Packing, Dispatch & Installation

After completion of painting, the material is properly packed using suitable protective packaging methods and safely loaded onto trucks to ensure damage-free transportation up to the client's site. HEBENKRAFT designs its equipment with a strong focus on ease of transportation and safety, enabling reliable dispatch and delivery across all-India and worldwide project locations.
